My Interests

I have always been very interested in programming. What I really like about programming is the different types of challenges that I can meet and the problem-solving aspect of it. I enjoy exploring different approaches and learn from it.

Game programming combines my love for games and programming.
It often introduces unique challenges and requires a distinct approach, which I find especially enjoyable to work with.
Some of the things I really enjoy:
  • The evolution of gameplay
    • Seeing gameplay evolve as I learn.
  • Optimization
    • Having to work within boundaries makes sure that sometimes I have to think about how I approach things
  • The distinctness of gameplay in different types of games
    • The gameplay is often different from game to game, which means I often meet and learn new things.
In general, I have had fun working on all the game projects I have done.

Education

The Games program is an education where you learn about game development and collaboration in larger groups. The program is very project oriented. It has two specializations: Tech and Design.
My specialization is Tech, where the focus is on game implementation and the associated challenges. Additionally, there is often group work between Tech and Design, allowing us to gain significant experience in cross-disciplinary collaboration.
During the program, I have participated in 4 game projects. The largest project I have worked on is a semester-long project called DADIU, where we worked in a team of 15 people from various universities in Denmark.

Some courses i have done:

  • Game Programming
    • Learning some important Game programming concepts.
  • Making Games
    • Learning about prototyping games and ends with a 6-weeks game project with around 6 person teams.
  • Game World Design
    • Learning about creating worlds while building a game with a smaller team
  • DADIU
    • Learning to make games in large teams (15-20 people)

Throughout the program, I have used:
  • C# & C++
  • Unity & Visual Studio
  • Git & Plastic SCM

Software Development is a bachelor's program with a strong focus on the theoretical and practical elements behind programming and the software lifecycle.
It is not as focused as you would find my master's and is instead about a broad spectrum of topics. As part of this program i learned about:

  • SOLID
  • Java
  • REST-API
  • F#
